|
Free Lunch Program made the welfare policies as the national issue in Korea. However, the limitation also obvious. We shouldn`t identify a national crazy for the free lunch programs with supporting the universal welfare state in Korea. People voiced their concern about undemocratic decision-making process and a series of maladministration cases in Lee MyungBak government. And so when you think about that, it is nature that there wasn`t any popular attention to the major premises of universal welfare state. In fact, the argument was limited to the appropriacy of individual welfare programs and finance. After the argument was limited, the conservative criticized the universal welfare policies as political populism. As a result, the universal welfare policies was not come to be the major issue in 4.11 general election.
